Amy Madison, MD
Dr. Amy Madison was raised in Connecticut and completed her undergraduate degree at Colby College in Maine, where she graduated with the academic honor of Phi Beta Kappa. She returned to Connecticut to complete her MD at the University of Connecticut, where she received an award for academic achievement. She completed both Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology fellowship training at the University of Washington in Seattle. During her fellowship and beyond, she completed a master’s degree in Epidemiology, the study of causes, effects and patterns of disease in defined populations. She is also certified by the American College of Rheumatology in the practice of musculoskeletal ultrasound, which serves as a remarkable asset for the diagnosis and management of patients with musculoskeletal conditions. She is currently the only rheumatologist in Bend who offers musculoskeletal ultrasound. Prior to moving to Bend, she worked as a rheumatologist at the University of Washington, where she participated in patient care, teaching and research. The love of the outdoors drew Dr. Madison and her husband out of the city to Bend, where they enjoy skiing, hiking, rock climbing, and the many other activities central Oregon has to offer. Dr. Madison prides herself on being a strong advocate for her patients, and she strives to give her patients an in-depth understanding of their diagnosis and treatment options so that they can make educated, personalized decisions about their health.
