Dan Fohrman, MD

Dr. Fohrman was the first Rheumatologist to practice in Bend, Oregon after having completed his fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Utah in 1980. Over the next 28 years, based at Bend Memorial Clinic, he practiced consultative Rheumatology, conducted clinical research, began the first osteoporosis/densitometry program in Central Oregon, and established the first Rheumatology infusion center in Central Oregon. In 2009, he opened a private practice, Deschutes Rheumatology, and has continued all of these services (other than clinical research) in an intimate, personalized atmosphere. Dr. Fohrman graduated from Chicago Medical School as a member of the AOA Honor Medical Society in 1974 and completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine in 1977 at the Albany Medical Center in New York State.
Dr. Fohrman has enjoyed staffing medical clinics in Nepal, Thailand, and Tibet. He has two grown sons, a stepson, and a stepdaughter. He enjoys photography, skiing, snowboarding, cycling, and travel with his wife, Sheila.
